Katrina’s Jewish Voices

Here's a photo of one of the first homes to be rebuilt in our neighborhood, next to someone still in a FEMA trailer.

In Slidell, LA on the Northshore of Lake Ponchartrain, temporary government offices are in trailers. This photograph was taken in April, 2006, when twenty leaders from Reform congregations across the country came to New Orleans for a leadership mission. Participants visited local Reform congregations, met with Jewish leaders and government officials, and learned about some of the ongoing problems in the region.
