Katrina’s Jewish Voices

This is a picture of Lainie and Zachary Breaux. He was born days before Hurricane Katrina hit. Because of a health issue, Zach was forced to stay behind in the hospital nursery in New Orleans, while the Breaux family evacuated to Houston, TX. Soon after, the hospital was evacuated and for a few days, his family was not able to locate him. They were joyously reunited in Fort Worth.

Lainie Breaux received a thank you card from Colleen, one of the nurses that helped evacuate Lainie's son, Zachary, from the hospital nursery after Katrina hit New Orleans. The Breauxs could not locate Zach for several days, but were reunited in Fort Worth, TX.
