Spiritual Recovery from Hurricane Katrina Sermon Revised

Rabbi Jeffrey Kurtz-Lendner of Northshore Jewish Congregation of Mandeville, Louisiana led Shabbat services at his damaged synagogue on September 9, 2005, 11 days after Katrina. He called this refugee Shabbat. He gave a sermon, which was the first sermon given in a synagogue in the New Orleans area after Katrina. Rabbi Kurtz-Lendner revised his sermon into an article for his congregation's newsletter. This article is attached.
