Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans?

"Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans" is a blog entry written by Anna Berezina, Director of Outreach and Engagement at Brandeis University Hillel. Berezina staffed an alternative spring break trip to Kiln, Mississippi, to help rebuild in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. This blog entry describes her experiences during the trip, which took place in January of 2007.

This photograph from the Columbia/Barnard Hillel Alternative Winter Break trip to help rebuild homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina was taken by Barnard College student Shira Gordon. Hillel students and staff members spent the week of January 7-14, 2007 in Kiln, Mississippi, and in New Orleans’ St. Bernard Parish. This is a photograph of a room at Camp Coastal, a volunteer housing center in Hancock County, Mississippi. Every group staying there signs the wall.
