Photograph and chair inside Beth Israel Congregation

This photograph, taken by Lori Stiefel on December 23, 2005, inside Beth Israel Congregation in New Orleans, shows an old photograph resting on a chair. Both the photograph and the chair are badly damaged from the water. There looks to be a mural on the wall behind the chair.

Objects with Water Damage, Including Hanukkah Menorah

This is a photograph of several objects ruined by the water in the house of a Jewish family in the Lakeview section of New Orleans. Of the objects in the photo, one is a small Hanukkah menorah and a document with the title "Flowers of Israel" on it. Also in the photo, a basket and some small dishes. This photo was taken by Jayne Guberman, Director of Oral History at the Jewish Women's Archive on May 9, 2006.
