This photograph from the Columbia/Barnard Hillel Alternative Winter Break trip to help rebuild homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina was taken by Barnard College student Shira Gordon. Hillel students and staff members spent the week of January 7-14, 2007 in Kiln, Mississippi, and in New Orleans’ St. Bernard Parish, cleaning and gutting homes and repairing roofs damaged by the storm.
