This is a picture of one of the worksites where students worked to repair homes that had been badly damaged by Hurricane Katrin. Hundreds of college students from Hillels across the country spent their spring breaks in Slidell and New Orleans, Louisiana, repairing homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina. A year and a half after the storm, there is still a tremendous amount of work to be done. This photograph was taken by Nellie Krentzman, a University of Vermont Hillel staff member, in March, 2007.
