pile of felled trees and brush in front of home

This is a picture of a large pile of felled trees and brush in front of a home that had been badly damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Hundreds of college students from Hillels across the country spent their spring breaks in Slidell and New Orleans, Louisiana, repairing homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina. A year and a half after the storm, there is still a tremendous amount of work to be done. This photograph was taken by Nellie Krentzman, a University of Vermont Hillel staff member, in March, 2007.
