HURRICANE KATRINA, poem by Rachel Bressler

This is a poem titled "HURRICANE KATRINA" by Rachel Bressler, who wrote the poem when she was 11 years old. Rachel witnessed the chaos of Katrina, and she wrote this poem about her experience.

The poem was contributed by Rachel's grandparents, Stanley and Judy Bressler. Stanley and Judy were able to get out of New Orleans before Katrina hit, although it was a nightmare to live through. They caravanned from New Orleans to Atlanta with Lee (their son), Tamie, Rachel, and Adam. Lee and his family moved to Baton Rouge, while Stanley and Judy stayed in Atlanta with Richard, Mindi, Daniel, and Erin. Judy thanks her family who let her and Stanley stay with them while they got adjusted. Daniel will start at Tulane in the Fall (2007) and Rachel will soon be having her Bat Mitzvah.
