putting felt paper down on the roof
This is a picture of Hillel students putting down felt paper on a house in Biloxi, Mississippi. Shingles are then put over the felt paper. These students were part of a group of hundreds of college students from Hillels across the country that spent their winter or spring breaks in Gulfport and Biloxi, Mississippi, repairing homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina. The students learned basic construction and roofing skills. By the end of the week, this house at 291 Kuhn street had a brand new roof.
