one home's ruined possessions

This is a photograph the ruined belongings that University of Virginia Hillel students cleared out of a New Orleans home that had been severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Later, the students gutted the inside of the home to enable later rebuilding. University of Virginia Hillel students took two week-long Hurricane Katrina relief trips in the spring of 2006: one to Mississippi in March, and one to New Orleans in May. This photograph was taken on May 26, 2006, and was originally posted on the University of Virginia Hillel blog at http://uvahillel.blogspot.com.
