I am New Orleans

This is a photograph of a sign that reads “I am coming home! I will rebuild! I am New Orleans!” This photograph was taken by Sharona Spiewak, a student from Brooklyn College, who was a participant on Hillel’s alternative winter break trip to New Orleans in January, 2007. This group was part of Hillel’s larger alternative break program that has sent hundreds of college students and staff members from Hillels across the country to repair and rebuild damaged homes in New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
